Cameron

This post may not be for the weak of stomach.  (:  Raising a boy is an adventure. Especially my boy.  He surprises me in some way every single day.  Cameron adds a whole new verse to the famous children's song "bringing home a baby bumble bee".  This week Cameron came home from school with a dead bird.  He had found it in a bush just off the school playground and proceeded to walk home carrying it in his hands.  He threw it in the trash when he got home.  I am still not sure why he thought the trash can was a proper resting place for the dead bird but it made him feel better that he could give this bird a good place to be dead.  I must have made him wash his hands at least seven times.  I wanted to take a picture but I just couldn't bring myself to lifting the lid of the trash to take the picture so this googled picture will have to do.  I am torn between being totally grossed out and grateful that he is sensitive enough to want to take care of a dead helpless creature.

By the way...this handsome devil also just scored higher on the math section of the proficiency test then the teacher or aide had ever seen.  They actually told me they had never had anyone even close to where he scored.  He has his challenges...academics is not one of them.  I would try to say that he gets it from me but anyone who knew me in school might cry tears of laughter remembering how thrilled I was when I got a C in physical science at Ricks.  He told a democrat friend of ours the other day that we needed to boot Obama because he wasn't doing enough to create jobs.  (thankfully that friend loves Cameron and got a big kick out of it)  We have to turn the channel when political commercials come on (in Nevada that is about every other minute because we are a swing state).  I would rather him watch beer commercials then political commercials.  He gets so upset.  What 9 year old cares?  Cameron...that's who...I  LOVE HIM!!!

I love, Cameron! (And I remember his mommy crying because she wanted to save a mouse from being eaten by a cat.)
