Jr. Festival

It is Jr. Festival time.   This year with the holidays and us being out of town for so long Cameron did not have very much time to prepare.  I felt like there was no way he was ready and I almost didn't have him participate.   I decided it would be better to push him a little bit then to let him think that the way to get out of something is to not practice hard.  So we went to the church to practice on the organ every day after school. I was frustrated because I felt like Cameron was trying too hard to play from memory instead of reading the music.  I told him that he probably wouldn't get a Superior because he hadn't had enough time to prepare and he was just wasting time.  He said "I will prove you wrong" Well...here is his performance.

When he finished he came off the stand and said "I told you I would prove you wrong"  I can only imagine what others thought.  Yes that is me, the mom  who tells their kid they aren't good enough.  How embarrassing.  Cameron is amazing.  He always seems to pull it off.  I was very proud of him. He loves playing the organ and the piano.  I never have to nag him to practice.  He just does it.  Way to go my little buddy.
