Clara played the violin at two different nursing homes. It was a very good experience for her. The people were very sweet and very grateful to have some entertainment.
LEAF FIGHT!!!
On the first day of Christmas break I surprised the kids with a little trip on the Polar Express. It was awesome but if we ever do it again we are definitely going at night time.
The train was really old and super cool.
It was freezing cold. We couldn't wait to get warm on the train.
We met the hobo.
On the train they gave us hot chocolate and cookies.
A few days before Christmas a naughty elf left a package at our door. In it was a note telling the kids that they had not been naughty enough. I had these darling crocheted snowmen full of cotton balls and these super cute crocheted hats. The cotton balls were so that the kids could have a Las Vegas style snowball fight. It was so fun. Clara had just finished writing a letter to Santa asking him to bring her snow for Christmas.
Christmas morning on the stairs.
RUN FOR IT!!! The kids are so darling. They loved their presents and they got excited over every little thing.
Cameron was thrilled with his 3 hybrid.
Clara was dying to get a cowgirl hat and a long board.
Lauryn has been asking for an Elsa dress for about 10 months. She immediately put it on. It is so fun to be a Mom on Christmas. I love seeing my kids get so excited about everything. There is just something so magical about Christmas morning. Most of all I love watching them gain an understanding of the reason we celebrate Christmas. I love doing simple acts of service with them and having conversations about our Savior.
For New Years we headed to Utah and some colder weather.
Scott and Bethany hosted a New Years Eve party. We had a blast. Cameron's favorite spot is in the basement where Scotty keeps his Star Wars books. It is in the storage room so there is no heat. Cameron got bundled up and made himself comfy.
Uncle Scotty pulled the kids on a sled behind the four wheeler.
kids are crazy. It was freezing but they kept going and going and going...
Lauryn loves her cousin Camden. They have always been good little buddies.
Cameron even came up from his basement hiding place to join in on the fun.
We had a few coronation (or coordination) ceremonies.
This is as good as it gets when you have a bunch of people full of candy and chocolate.
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
These three little divas put on a recital for us. They all played the piano and Clara played her violin.
Grammy got out the karaoke machine. They sang songs from the Annie movie for hours and hours.
Our favorite sledding spot was just down the street from Grammy and Grandad's house. There was a sweet jump that the kids went flying off of.
Lauryn probably flew the highest.
We decided to burn off some energy at an indoor trampoline park. We played and laughed for about two hours.
Cameron loved the dodge ball.
Clara was determined to make it all the way across.
so after that she did a flip
not to be left behind Lauryn held her own on the ropes.
She was super determined and I was proud of her and YES she made it all the way across many many times.
The next day we headed back to the hill.
So much funThere were some snowballs involved.
A few train rides
Some icicles
and then another concert
The kids were very proud of their ice collection. We were sad to leave our family but happy to get back to some warmer weather. We are so blessed to have such fun cousins. We love to spend time with them and we are always sad when we have to say good-bye.
