baptism day

When Lauryn and Clara were first born I remember thinking how much fun their baptism day would be.  I have looked forward to shopping for a dress and teaching them about the sacred ordinance.  They are sweet and special little girls.  I am honored to be their Mom.  They bless our home in ways the will never understand.  This day did not disappoint.  It was an amazing day from beginning to end
Lauryn is my little one.  One thing I love about her is that she is in no hurry to grow up.  For this I am very thankful.  She loves to play with dolls and she loves to dress up and pretend play.  She uses her stuffed animals for friends if she needs to and she creates situations and scenarios and can play by herself for hours.  She loves legos and playmobil.  She loves to be busy with her hands.  She is very artistic and creative.  She loves to cook and bake and is getting to be pretty independent in the kitchen.  She makes breakfast all by herself.  She is very helpful.  I call her my little foodie.  She has a love for all things edible and will try anything.  She loves to create her own recipes and I won't be even a little surprised if she ends up being a chef.  Most of all I love that she is kind and that she wants people to be happy.  She is a good friend and she loves to do random acts of service for her friends and our family.  While we were getting ready for her baptism she said to me "Mom, I cannot believe that my baptism day is finally here.".  After she came out of the water she said, "I have tickles in my tummy."  She couldn't stop smiling all day long.
Clara is a force to be reconed with.  She has a strong desire to do what is right.  She loves to talk to her friends about God.  Clara loves to tumble and she is often found rubbing a body part that she has hurt by tumbling into some piece of furniture.  Clara loves horses and she loves to play with friends.  She likes to be active.  She will tackle anything.  She will try any new activity but not any new food.  She wants to play every sport known to man and gets a little frustrated when I tell her we don't have time.  She is a very good student and she reads like a maniac.  Clara fasted for the whole day her very first Sunday to fast.  She loves her Heavenly Father and has a very tender spirit and she  is full of faith and love.  Clara is a good friend and she always looks for those who may be feeling left out.  She tries to include everyone in her play.  She is a leader and she leads well.  When Clara came out of the water she told me "It felt cold when I came out of the water but I felt warm all over"  I hope she will always recognize the Holy Ghost and listen to its promptings.
I have no words that can adequately express how much I love these two.  I sometimes wonder what they will accomplish in life because they are well on their way to conquering the world.
They love their Dad and I am grateful for  a righteous leader who is teaching them what to look for in a husband.  I once read an article about the influence a father has in his daughter's self worth and her morality.  My girls are in great shape.  They have the best of the best in their Dad.
two other children from our primary got baptised with Lauryn and Clara.  It was fun to share this special day with good friends.  There was a massive turn out from our ward and for the first time that I have ever seen they had to open the overflow and there was not enough room in the font area.  We had to work in shifts.  This should always be a problem.
I don't know if this picture is appropriate but I couldn't help myself.  As I was watching my first little lady move into the font I thought what a blessing it is to always have someone there to watch you and to support you.  These girls will always have a friend to guide them and to encourage them.  They don't think it is so great to be a twin now but one day they will realize what a blessing it is.
My uncle came over from Arizona.  I was so grateful that he made the drive.  He has always been very special to me.  He has had a great influence on my life and taught me a great deal about the atonement.  Some of this he has taught me intentionally but some of it I have learned from observing him.  I was so thankful he could be there with us.
This special lady, Sister Tui made the girls hakus.  They were so excited that she made the effort to make them.
This is their Kindergarten teacher, Mr. Buono.  He always makes an effort to come to anything the girls are doing.  He is heaven sent and we are so thankful that our paths crossed.
Cameron played the organ for the baptism.  He played the entire meeting and even accompanied the primary children on the piano while they sang, "I am a Child of God."  It was a great act of service that he could offer for his sisters.
The whole family.  This is my favorite thing right here.  My family.  We are not perfect in any way but we love each other and we try really hard.
We were grateful for those who could come and support the girls.  We love our cousins and are thankful for the wonderful examples that they are to each of us.
Lauryn and Clara are very blessed with some pretty amazing grandparents.  I am so glad they were all able to be here with us on this special day.
