Happy St. Patrick's Day

The things we do for our kids...

Cameron had to make a Leprechaun (excuse me while I ask him how to spell that) trap for a school project. We got some ideas from the Internet and we found a great one made from a box. Well, later I was looking for ideas for his birthday cake when I saw one that was a motorcycle climbing up a mountain (you may have seen it in Family Fun). Well, I made the mistake of saying to Cameron "if we decorated this green it would be a great Leprechaun trap". That was the end of the box. We now HAD to have a trap made out of cake. It wasn't as awful as I thought it would be and Cameron and I had a lot of fun making it. The Leprechaun will follow the Shamrock sidewalk and then climb up the stairs eating lucky charms all along the way. When he gets to the top he will see gold and he will jump in after it only to be trapped by a big fence. I had intended on having him do every single bit of it. I am not a huge fan of projects that are done by parents but after a tiny bit of frosting I knew that I would need to take care of that part especially because his class is going to eat it. I also intended for him to spray paint the fence but after one spray that went nowhere near the fence I decided that I should take over that part as well. Cameron did all the decorating himself. In fact I went upstairs to check on the girls and when I came down he had already done most of it. He had a totally different vision from me and I like his much better. Way to go Cameron. You did good work. If you can't catch that pesky Leprechaun than no one can.
