kitchen construction #1

I was going to wait and do this post when I had a true before and after picture.  I am quickly realizing that the after picture is going to be a while so I am going to post before and during.  Before we moved into our home we did a TON of work on it.  We tore down a wall, ripped out all the flooring, painted every wall and ceiling, laid new flooring, and on and on and on...after we moved in we painted the outside, put in a patio cover, re cased windows, repainted several rooms, Dave built furniture for us, changed light fixture after light fixture after light fixture.  For whatever reason we just haven't gotten to the kitchen so finally this winter we decided it was time.  I am giddy over it all.  It is shaping up to be FABULOUS!  This is what we have so far.
Before.  The cupboards were that pinkish color when we moved in so I painted them white because I couldn't stand it
During
after we got the granite in

and just because I am sure you are all dying to know what is coming next...Dave is currently (as I type) building a new case for a new double oven so we can have a bigger one.  Hopefully it will go in tomorrowish.  Then Dave is putting on new cupboard doors and droor fronts and when he is all finished the cupboards will be a dark mocha.  I can hardly wait.  I might start cooking more...

Yay! Yay! Yay!!!!! So fun! Feels & looks like a new house. Love the granite, and I'm jealous of your fridge. Ours keeps moaning and groaning likes its gonna die, but loe and behold, it lives. Someday. ;)

It looks fantastic. The countertops and backsplash are great. It looks like the new fridge is way bigger than the old one, but it must not be because it fits in the same space. It will be so great to have counterspace without the grooves in it.
