Utah for New Years

We left the day after Christmas to go to Utah for a week.  My kids love to go visit Grammy and Grandad and their cousins.  It is an added bonus if there is any type of snow.  We got there at about 8pm and there was a couple of inches of old icy snow that was covering some of the grass.  My kids thought they had died and gone to heaven.  My Mom threw some warm clothes on them and they played like it was the first time they had seen snow in a year. (OK so it was)  They managed to sled down this two foot hill and suck on a nice piece of ice.I am sure you can imagine the euphoria that set in when a few mornings later we woke to a REAL snowfall.  It dumped and dumped.  It was beautiful and my little desert rats could not have been happier.  They played and played and played in the snow.  They are always freezing here in Vegas.  I am constantly putting blankets in the dryer to keep them warm but for some reason the snow makes the cold totally bearable.
The girls were totally disappointed that when we put the hat on the snowman he didn't come to life.  My little brother had to explain that the only magic snow is when it is the first snow of the season and it falls on Christmas eve.  Maybe next year...
We were really excited when the cousins started showing up.  Baylie came with her family all the way from South Carolina.  These little ladies are only 6 months apart and they love to be together.

What happens when you put three little girls in the back seat together??? A whole lot of screaming!!!

Grammy reads the girls the same story every night.  How many kisses do you want?  They love this time with Grammy.
We decided to hit the slopes in Pleasant Grove.  The high school had a great hill that you could slide down and then go forever.   After only one ride with Dad, the girls were ready to ride solo.

The girls are little daredevils.  I thought they might last about two rides down the hill. The temperature was about 17 degrees and that was without the wind chill.  After at least thirty minutes I found myself begging them to be finished so that I could go wait in the car.
I was a little worried that someone might mistake my Dad for an animal and shoot him.
Because my Mom's house wasn't messy enough the girls popped popcorn all over the floor and then ate it like dogs.  Thanks Mom for laying down a clean table cloth first.

We had a great time.  We love our family and we love spending time with them.  It is always hard for my kids to leave.  They miss their cousins.  We wish we could see them more.  But for now...a big hug will have to do. We love you guys!
