president day hike

The kids have been spending WAY too much time indoors lately so on President's Day we decided to take a hike up at Red rock Canyon.  It was windy and freezing but the kids still wanted to go.  I actually tried to convince them that the playground at McDonald's would be fun.  (you know how much I hate that place so now you know how cold it was).  I think the kids really wanted to be outside as well.  We took two of our cute little neighbors with us and we had a great time.  I froze but the kids were troopers.  They never complained.  Actually, they wanted to keep on going.  Way to go guys!

I love the beautiful red rocks.  It reminds me a bit of Southern Utah where I grew up.
we hiked to a river.  OK it was a tiny stream but to us desert dwellers it might as well have been the Mississippi.

Red Rock Canyon is beautiful and we really should spend more time there.
