Halloween

My kids think I am able to create any costume they can think of.  I am willing to try but I thought when your kids were little they wanted to be princesses and football players.  You know, the easy stuff.  Well...NOT MY KIDS!!!  This year Cameron wanted to be Red Toad from Super Mario Brothers and the girls wanted to be Blue and Jewel from the movie Rio.  I did my best.  Did I mention that I am extremely frugal and REFUSE to spend large amounts of money on costumes?
Ready for the trunk or treat.
My little blue Macaws.  It is amazing how happy little girls will be with anything if you sprinkle glitter on them.
Big Toad and little toad.

And now for the gripe...do you remember when you went trick or treating and you came home and savored your candy.  I was super excited if I got maybe 5 or on a good year 10 mini candy bars.  I heard rumors of full size candy bars but as far as I knew they were just rumors.  Well...my kids went around our neighborhood and each came home with at least 5 full size candy bars.  There were very few tootsie rolls and smarties.  It was mostly chocolate bars.  There were even some gourmet chocolate bars included.  Guess what I gave out this year?  Pixie sticks.  Yes I am the house that disappoints.  I let my kids eat their candy for a week and they haven't even made a dent in it. I finally confiscated it and they didn't even argue.  They happily handed it over.  I think they were sick of it too. When I went to tuck Cameron in to bed the other night this is how I found him ...
Notice the sucker drool running down his cheek?  Please don't show this to my dentist.

Awesome costumes. I've never even heard of Mr. Toad. Love the sucker picture! David always eats all our kids' candy.
