A little catching up to do

In July the kids and I headed back to Utah  for a little visit. I had a reunion with some college friends and we always love to visit family.  So... I was able to reconnect with some of these people...

At Ricks I was befriended by a bunch of Polynesians.  They were beyond good to me.  They had my back and I knew it.  I hope when my girls go away to school they have friends like mine to help them feel "at home" when they are far away.

We loved having some play time with our cousins.  We went swimming.
Cameron is trying to see how long he can hold his breath.  This is also what he looks like when he is in trouble in the pool.  He pretends that he can't hear me.
We took a little detour on the way home through the Kolob Canyon scenic route.  It is just south of Cedar City and beautiful.  We got there just after a rainstorm and it was breathtaking.
Lauryn had to get a little filling in her tooth.  When she was finished she said to me "I am not so happy about the way my mouth feels right now."
We love cute neighbors who treat the girls like little sisters.
When the temperature rises we flee to the beach.  Thanks to family members who have a beach house that they  let us crash in  once in a while.
My sweet nieces spend so much time with my kids.  They are super role models to them.
We watched the neighbor lady feed the racoons.  She has been feeding them for years so they come out every  night.
AHHHH our favorite place.
Again...love the nieces who will turn little girls into mermaids.  Boobs and all...
boogie boarding

Cameron made friends with a pelican
I love it when we all get to go on vacation together.  I am so thankful that Dave has a job and that his job allows me the freedom to play with my kids.  We have lots of fun and we take lots of trips without Dave but the best trips are the ones where he can join us.
Have I mentioned how much I love my nieces?
two little beauties.

This is as far as Cameron made it on Sunday morning....He got a little bit fried.  He was a trooper and drug himself to sacrament meeting.

watching the crazy body boarders
Back in the blazing hot weather and time for an icee.  The girls are always cold when we get icees so this time they wore  sweaters.  It was only 112.
Trying to fit in as much fun as we can before school starts.  A trip to King Putt.
Cameron spent the weekend with Dave up at the cabin.  He loves to be with his Dad.  I watched them say a little prayer in the truck before they left.  It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.
Playing at the splash  pad
Taking advantage of the rain flood waters on the green belt.
And since wading wasn't enough we went home and got the pool floats and swimming suits.

The security guard told me we  had to leave for insurance reasons.  By that time the kids had been floating for over and hour and the rain was pouring down.  If it rains tomorrow we will be right back up there.  Insurance...whatever...
This is what happens when Clara doesn't get her way.  It doesn't happen often but man when she get mad she can really dig her heels in.  This time she snapped out of it very quickly because our next  stop was Old Navy and she loves to shop.
Today we took a hike up to little falls at Mount  Charleston.  I have no idea why Clara is always posing.

Look at all that water.  (:  We take what we can get.
