Ragnar

So I ran this Ragnar relay this year.  I have been wanting to do this for a long time.  It is a relay race.  With 11 other people we ran a total of 193 miles.  As I prepared for it I began to wonder why I thought it was a good idea.  In the final days leading up to the race I swore I would never do it again.  I was secretly hoping I would sprain my ankle on a pine cone or something.  The weather in Las Vegas was horrible.  We started at the top of Mt. Charleston in the snow.  The wind was howling.  It was below 30 degrees.  I am not sure when or how or why but for some reason I had a blast.  I ran it with two of my friends from my ward and we  quickly grew to love our other three van mates.  I laughed the entire time.  In fact when I went out for a run this morning about a mile into it I just started laughing for really no reason at all.  I can hardly wait to do it again.  It helped that I had the fewest amount of miles and the weather seemed to be on my side.  My runs totalled 14 miles and it seemed that for two of my runs the wind died and the sun came out.  My night run was a little miserable but at least the wind was at my back.  My cousin, Ran was also running.  He ran on an ultra team where there are only 6 runners.  It was fun to see him along the course.  This race was challenging but next time I will definitely do more miles.  For now I am glad I can check it off my bucket list.
