Post Spring break break

My niece Baylie turned 5 in March.  Her Mom gave her the choice of having a birthday party or coming to visit Lauryn and Clara.  She chose to visit Lauryn and Clara and we were super excited about that.  I am sure she really wanted to come and visit me.  (:   All Baylie wanted was to be able to break a pinata.
This is Baylie with the pinata.  As you can see the chlorine and hard play had taken its toll on Baylie's eyes.
Before we broke the pinata Baylie had some birthday money she wanted to spend on doing something fun with the girls so we went ice skating.  Clara is very proud that she can skate without a walker.
Lauryn forgot that it gets cold in the rink so she borrowed my sweater.  she was a little embarrassed but I thought she looked darling.
Cousins are the best.  Its true.  My kids have lots of great friends but there is no one they get more excited to see than their cousins.  I believe there is a real bond because of the eternal nature of families.

The best thing about ice skating is drinking hot chocolate when it is 80 degrees outside.
The kids were excited to whack that pinata.
 And whack it they did...
but mostly they just wanted to eat the candy
waiting patiently
The kids spent most of the time in the pool.  You may wonder if it is warm.  The answer...NO
so they would swim for a while and then jump in the hot tub.
and then finish it off with a nice warm bath full of Santas.  We are so glad Baylie chose to come and visit for her birthday.  We miss them.  All three kids woke up the morning they left (they left for the airport before 5am) and asked if they had decided to stay.  We love you Batchelor family!

We love you too! I wish we lived closer, but then maybe the visits wouldn't be as fun. When we finally got home after 19 hours, Jalen wanted to jump right back on the plane. (You could have cropped me out of the piñata pictures!)
