Schools out for summer

One of my favorite days of the year is the last day of school.  I just love it when my kids are home with me everyday and we stay in our jammies until noon and swim and go to movies and do whatever we want whenever we want.  I love summer nights when I don't have to rush my kids into the tub and bed.  We go night swimming and watch baseball games.  I know I make it sound like life at my house is bliss.  This is not true.  There are many days where I long for peace and where the kids all end up separated into different rooms so that they don't kill each other.  But at least I know where they are.  Some people have told me I should home school.  There is NO way.  My kids would be really good at slurpee making and wii games.  I have no objection to education.  I LOVE our elementary school and the faculty there.  I just don't love homework and getting up early.  We do homework and read all summer but it is fun stuff not required stuff.  By the end of the school year it is difficult for me to even get my kids to their school and classes.  I wish I could say that I love the first day of school but I dread it.  I just like the laid back life we live all summer long.  The only thing I love about the beginning of the school year is that it brings with it football season.  We had a busy last couple of days of school but they were full of fun.
Cameron had his end of the year piano recital.
He has THE best piano teacher ever.  She is truly amazing.  She is so good with Cameron and he loves playing the piano.  Some days I have to make him stop after several hours of practicing.  She makes it fun and encourages him to take risks and to push himself.  She also has unlimited amounts of patience.
The piano recital is followed by a fun pool party and BBQ for the families.

We also love that our cousins came to visit for a few days before we head off to our next adventure.
Every year we host a "Welcome to summer" party.  We invited everybody we can think of and we have a great time. The party usually lasts from about 1 until it gets dark but this year...
Cameron had his soccer party at our house so we had a neighborhood friend party followed by a soccer party.  It was a crazy busy day and we were exhausted but we had a BLAST!!!
