Normally we go ice skating on Christmas Eve. This year poor little Lauryn was throwing up all day on Christmas eve so we had to stay close to home. So...we went ice skating the day after Christmas instead.
If we didn't have these little walkers there is NO way I would skate with them.
Lauryn gets her little walker and then FLIES around the ice. She is so funny to watch. She will only try without the walker for short periods of time. she really likes to be able to go fast. She runs and runs.
Clara refuses to use the walker and always seems to find a friend to help her around.
The next day Dave and I headed to San Francisco for the BYU bowl game. The trip was a blast all but the game. We lost. However it was great to get away for a few days. My sister and her family came and stayed with my kids.
We had a beautiful view of the city from our hotel room. At night the lights were so pretty. China town.
We took a nice little ride in a trolley. I gave the trolley driver my best smile and he let me and Dave ride for free. I've still got it. (: Actually I have no idea why he let us ride for free he just told me not to pay. He was so funny and that ride was worth the trip.
Ghirardelli Square was packed and we didn't even go in any stores but I think this sign is really cool.
The Golden Gate bridge. I want to bring my kids here and ride bikes across it.
It was relaxing to just wander around this cool city. At least for us...
I'm afraid we wore out my parents. We were so glad they came with us. We love spending time with them. They are always up for anything and everything. Dave and my Dave even waited patiently while my Mom and I did a little shopping in Union Square.
The day after we got back from San Fran we headed to Arizona to see Dave's family. We love going on hikes in the beautiful Arizona desert. I actually got really sick and spent the whole time in bed but I did manage to take a few pictures.
Clara is a little obsessed with this little man. Thankfully he is a very laid back sweet little guy that pretty much lets her treat him like a doll.
Cameron loves to catch plastic golf balls that Dave hits to him over the fence in my brother in laws back yard.
We got back from Arizona to find out that my Sister and her family were going to be stranded in Las Vegas for four days waiting to catch a flight back to South Carolina. You can imagine how upset we all were about that. I am sure they were ready to get home but we were so glad to spend some more time with them. The girls took several baths a day.
Clara lost all of her teeth.
My kids have the BEST DAD EVER. First he builds them this totally cool horse barn and then he lets them paint it hot pink. The girls were super excited that they got to help. Lauryn painted almost all of the white by herself. She was very diligent. I tried to talk them into a light pink but they insisted on this.
This took some great patience. I was proud of how hard they worked and proud of myself for remaining calm.
The final product. Dave made the corral for their birthday and he made the barn on Christmas Eve. I think the American girl dolls are taking over our home. I am glad that Cameron is much older than the girls because there is no way we could have handled the parking garage for his matchbox cars and the the american girl doll stuff at the same time. Now all Cameron needs the play room for is the wii and his star wars book. WHEW!
