First of all...somewhere in the last few months we managed a quick trip to Disneyland. I LOVE that place. We had a great time. Clara was the only one brave enough to take on Vader. She was super nervous but she was very excited and she took him down.
We met the fairy Godmother. In all the times I have gone to Disneyland I believe this was the first time I ever saw the fairy Godmother. She was fantastic.
We met Merida for the first time as well. I am not sure why some of these pictures are sideways but I am just so thrilled to finally be blogging that I am not going to take the time to straighten them.
Unfortunately Dad and Cameron got a little sick and they headed back to the hotel to sleep it off. While the boys are away...the girls still play.
Proof that Cameron was there.
The girls did a little relaxing in the sun. I have a love/hate relationship with this picture. I think the girls are super adorable but I also have visions of their teenage selfs and I don't like the idea of them ever growing up. It would be off to Neverland for these kids of mine if I had it my way. I would be joining them there of course.
I finally figured out the trick to getting Cameron just about any ride. Rain gear. It took me ten years to figure out that it was more about getting wet than getting scared.
Cameron made the A honor roll at his elementary school. He is a very good student. I never have to tell him to do his homework. He comes home from school and gets right on it. He practices and reads without any complaints every single day. I hope he can keep up the diligence with his work. It is one of his greatest characteristics.
Cameron's scout troop was invited to participate in the Wreaths across America at the Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City, NV. Thankfully the whole family was invited to attend. It was a great experience for us.It started at Arlington National Cemetery and now is being done at Memorial Cemeteries across the United States. Wreaths are placed at the graves of our Veterans.
Cameron talked about this activity for weeks. He was very excited. He woke up and got ready without any trouble.
The wreaths looked beautiful across the cemetery. Unfortunately they don't have nearly enough wreaths for every grave. Hopefully each year there will be more and more donations so they can place them on more graves.
The kids were interested to find out that the same thing would be happening at Grandpa's grave as well. It made us feel a little connected to him. Next year we will pay for the wreath that will be placed on his grave.
Cameron was very reverent and respectful of this opportunity. He was very careful and tender as he placed his wreath. It warmed my heart.
And today...Christmas. I love being a Mom on Christmas. The kids were super excited. They are so full of hope and excitement. I just love them. They are such sweet fun kids. I am luck to be the Mom of this bunch.
The girls got new bikes. That is what Clara wanted. Lauryn got a horse stable lego set and Cameron got two cases of Mr. Flav drinks.
Lauryn looks super cute in her swim cap for her little swimming team.
It is hard to get Cameron to focus long enough for a picture when there is something like candy around to distract him.
I got a new lens for my camera so I headed outside to practice.
This is how Lauryn spent the WHOLE day. No joke. She drifts into a different world and talks to herself and plays and plays. She is totally content to just play with her little people.
Clara is composing her own original songs. She has been dying to play the guitar. She looks like a little country crooner in the making.
I hope the holidays slowed down a bit for everyone else. I am already looking forward to next year.
