I laugh when people talk about how busy they are in December. December has nothing on May. The month of May is a blur every single year.
This year the girls performed in the talent show with two of their friends. They danced to It's a Hard Knock life from Annie. They did a great job and they were darling. Of course I thought they were the best act of the night. We headed out to Pine Valley for our annual camping trip. This is a favorite tradition for us. We have been going up now for about 10 years. There is something about Pine Valley that means it is summer. This year there were a lot of friends from the ward who came but most of all we were excited that Scotty, Beth, Ava and Nixon could come.
We love to go fishing with Grandad. He teaches us everything he knows and spends all of his time untangling our fishing line and rebaiting our hooks.
Lauryn was sure that because she could wade out into the water she was able to catch more fish.
Cameron opted for the BYU flip flops instead of the boots. He's a Vegas kid for sure.
It rained most of the time and it was bitter cold but Scotty rigged us a living space that was quite comfy. It was toasty warm in our little campsite. We had lots of visitors.
Cameron got smarter or just wetter and colder and put on the boots.
We headed into Pine Valley for some ice cream because what better thing to eat than ice cream when it is freezing cold outside.
singing in the rain. The weather did not slow the kids down at all. They had a blast.
Clara spent most of her time on her long board. It was at Pine Valley that she first learned to long board.
She found some time to go fishing too.

After church on Sunday we visitied the grave of my cousin's baby. It was nice to visit and to share her story with my kids.
Pine Valley is a special place for our family. We have made many memories here. It is beautiful and we are reminded to slow down and to enjoy our journey here on earth. We love this time each year and are already looking forward to next year.
Dad jumping Clara. So tough.
The girls had their career fashion show. Lauryn did her report on being a dolphin trainer. This is and a Mom are the only things she has ever wanted to be.
Clara chose a horse trainer. This is also the only career she has ever wanted.
My little ladies are growing up nicely. I love the little people that they are. They are sweet and kind but don't take crap from anybody. They are leaders in their classroom and I am honored to be their Mom.
The other day Clara got in the car and told me she had won a reading award. I had no idea what it was. The PE teacher sent me this pictures. Apparently Clara was a top reader for her school. She was honred by the school board and city councilmen. I was so proud of her. She really is a book worm. She reads to Lauryn while Lauryn makes breakfast every morning.
