more from 2020

One of the perks of Covid was that international travel totally shut down which meant the National Parks weren't so crowded.  We were supposed to be going to Banff and then Glacier but we couldn't get in to Canada so we spent the whole time in Montana.  We were not mad about this.  Montana was beautiful.

The kids and I headed up early and then Dave flew up a few days later.

We visited this garden of the one thousand buddhas.  It was a strange but interesting place.
We walked around the campus of Montana State University.

I feel like you can judge a college by its football field.  We always try to get in to the football stadiums when we visit colleges.
Glacier is one of the prettiest places I have ever been.  We went on some really great hikes and just loved exploring this part of our beautiful country.

We saw a bear which always makes a trip more exciting.  This bear was just off the going to the sun road.

We went on a glacier hike.  There were mountain goats that just kind of hiked along with us.

We had to actually hike over a glacier.

The views were stunning

We stayed in a house on flathead lake.  There was a dock that we could jump off of.

One day we rented a boat and the kids all tried to wakeboard.  The boat wasn't very powerful so it was a struggle but it was fun to spend a day on the lake.
One day the boys wanted to go golfing
so the girls went horseback riding.
We had to ride through this river.  The water came up to the horse's belly.  It was super cool.  The guide told us we would most likely see a bear but we didn't.

It was such a peaceful morning.  We loved this ride because they just let us ride.  They didn't make us wear helmets or sign our lives away.  They just took us out into the mountains.
