9 YEARS

Today is my ninth anniversary. I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by. I still feel like a newlywed trying to figure out how to grow up and raise a family. I am so thankful for so many things but most of all for Dave. He is the perfect person for me to spend my life with. We have a great time together and I have never once wished for anything other than what I have. I hear so many people talk about the rough first years of marriage and I keep wondering when they will come. Thank you Dave for taking such good care of me and always making me smile. We have had some fun times and great memories. Here are nine of my favorites.
1. Our whole wedding/honeymoon week. So much fun.
2. Having Cameron
3. Learning we were pregnant with twins and then learning they were girls. Two very different reactions to the same little spirits.
4. Trips to New England
5. Trips to Disneyland/Dodger games and the beach
6. England and Scotland
7. Alaska
8. Remodeling our house and back yard
9. Football Games

I look at this picture of my wedding day and I remember thinking how great the day was. I loved everything about it, the new fallen snow, the breakfast, the reception and I absolutely loved my ceremony. It was an unbelievable and great day. Most of all I remember what in the world had I ever done to deserve such a great guy.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Dave. I didn't know that there was any way I could love Dave more than I already did but when I layed there in my hospital bed and watched him hold Cameron for the first time I was completely overcome with a whole new understanding of what it is to truly love someone. I felt an increase in Love and devotion to my new little family that was completely unexpected. I am so grateful for them and now for my little girls as well. Life has been very very good to us.
I thought I would share with you NINE of my favorite things about being married to Dave. (not in any specific order of course)
1. He knows how to make me laugh. On my last day of work before having Cameron I came home in tears. I was terrified to leave behind my comfort zone and was feeling a little bit overwhelmed at the thought of becoming a "Mom". A few minutes later Dave come downstairs in my maternity pants.

2. He is a very creative gift giver. Most of my Christmas presents and especially my birthday presents have a theme. For example...surviving a summer pregnant with twins was all stuff to keep my cool by the pool.
3. He is a hard worker. I had no idea when I married him that he could and would often spend the whole day working in the yard.

4. He loves the gospel and honors his priesthood. He is a great home teacher. He spends lots of time serving others.
5. He is a GREAT daddy. My kids all love their dad. That is all we hear right now out of Lauryn.
"DAD!!!!"

6. He loves to play. Sometimes when I buy things for Cameron I wonder who will enjoy it the most.

7. He is ambitious. He always has a plan or project he is working on. He loves to design and build things that most people wouldn't even think about attempting.
8. His silly dances. How do I even explain. I sometimes wonder if it possible for him to walk across the room with out doing some kind of jig.

9. No contention. He refuses to let me pout and is always quick to apologize even when the source of trouble is Me.

I love you Dave and consider myself very blessed to have you!
