Two birthdays

Today is the birthday of two great people. First it is the birthday of the prophet Joseph Smith. How grateful I am for his strength and courage to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for the guidance and direction that I receive through restored principles, covenants and ordinances that help me as I try to raise my children.

Today is also my Mother-in-law's birthday. I remember when I met her for the first time. I was very nervous. I am not sure why but Dave had me all worked up and terrified to meet her. It took me less than five minutes to realize I had nothing to fear. She had such a friendly demeanor and easy laugh. I felt comfortable instantly. We hiked to Havasupai with her. That is a good way to get to know the in-laws in some rough circumstances. We had a great time and I will always cherish that trip. I admire Camille because she refuses to get any older and I don't know many women her age who still boogie board. Way to go Grandma!!! I am grateful that Camille was so devoted to the gospel as she raised seven kids. They are amazing people and I am thankful to be part of their family. I am especially grateful for the things she taught Dave. The Jennings' are all great but I believe I got the best of the bunch. (: Thanks Camille. I love you and Happy Birthday!!!
(OK so this is a picture of my father-in-law but that is my mother-in-law in the background headed out to catch the next big wave.)
