Happy New Year!! We have a few New Years Traditions. First of all I am not a HUGE go out on New Years person. I don't know why but I never have been. It may have something to do with bad experiences at youth dances when I was a teenager. The boys who were chest level always asked me to dance and I am not a night person so by 10 or 11 I was dying to go home and my friends were all hyper and ready to go all night. Anyway...our first tradition is that we do fondue on New Years Eve. This year was our best year for that. I found some great new recipes. Our second tradition (started this year) is to have a fire in the fire pit. This will be more fun in future years I am sure. Cameron was sure the girls were going to burn he kept yelling "fire safety! fire safety! stop drop and roll!" Our third tradition is to ring in the New Year East Coast Time.
So now you know what we did for the New Year. I love the new year. I always feel refreshed and ready to take on a new challenge. Last year I set a goal to learn how to and start making my own bread. Dave bought me a wheat grinder and I have been making our bread since April. I might also add that it is SOOOO yummy. I also set a resolution to read the 1st pres. message every month. I did this faithfully although I didn't pay attention to what I was reading every time. I usually have girls in my lap when I read. I failed miserable on the lose weight resolution but then again I have failed at that one for about 30 years in a row so lets see if I can make it 31. I look forward to starting fresh and challenging myself. This year I am going to paint and redecorate my kids bedrooms and catch up on their scrapbooks. The scrapbooks were a resolution last year and I almost made it so I am going to give it another go. I am also going to work to have more meaningful scripture study so look our here comes the new and improved me or most likely just the same old me. (:

So I had to just post this picture of Lauryn and Clara in the nightgowns my Mom made for my little ladies. I thought these were adorable with their little matching dolls. Thanks Mom!

Fondue is a great idea. We played games with Erik and Shanelle and had a lot of fun. I love the picture of Lauryn's blow dryed hair.
Happy New Year! We love fondue what a great tradition and like you... I can't and won't stay out all night! We celebrate East Coast time as well.
