Lauryn and Clara turned three on Saturday. I cannot even believe how fast the last three years have flown. I also can't believe that we lived a day without these two little girls. They are priceless and Dave, Cameron and I are all totally and completely in love with them. (even on the mischievous days). We headed to Utah for Labor Day weekend and to have a princess party for the little ladies. We NEVER get to have family around on birthdays so we decided that we would have a party with our family and friends. I am not much of a birthday party person but decided it would be fun with cousins.
First we bedazzled our wands and shields.
We played pin the fire on the dragon and pin the lips on the prince. I know the prince looks a little feminine but the girls think he is perfect.
This is the castle cake that Aunt Shanelle made for Lauryn and Clara. Lauryn didn't want to eat it. She wanted to "leave it like this!" She was OK with cutting it once she took her first bite.
A whole new meaning to the idea of "dress-up". The girls love these silly noses and glasses and especially putting them on their stuffed animals. Thanks to Steve, Emily, Taylor and Carolyn for these.
The birthday girls
Our Knight in shining armor
What do you do when the princess gets slayed by the dragon??? Why you kiss her better of course.
The girls have grown up and changed so much over the last year. They are little princesses who dress up no matter where we are going. They love to go to Smiths and Costco and insist on wearing princess dresses and high heels almost every time we go. Clara usually sports a nice Blonde wig as well. Their personalities have changed some. Lauryn isn't as shy as she used to be. She is actually very mischievous. She likes to play Mom and then try to put me in timeout or down for a nap. Sometimes I take her up on the nap idea. She loves to help and wants to be grown up already. I just want her to stay little. She seems to be entering a new phase of stubbornness and we are hoping it passes quickly. No matter what I do with her hair in the morning, it is a mess by noon. She is fun and very busy. She adds a lot of spice to our family and although she is the smallest she is by far the feistiest.
Clara has conquered the twos. She has developed into a sweet and sensitive little lady. She has a very soft countenance and at the moment gets her feelings hurt very easily. She loves friends and is still very social. She has a great laugh and her little smile lights up a room. She is tall and coordinated. Perhaps she will be an athlete. Time will tell. Clara loves to pretend to be dancing with her handsome prince and talks about him taking her to the ball all day long. Clara gives our family some comic relief.
The girls are best friends. They love to play together and for the most part they get along great. We are so thankful for them. Sometimes I can't help but wonder how my little 4 pound babies turned into these beautiful little girls. It is all such a blur. I am just trying to hang on and absorb as much of the ride as I can. I am thankful to be a Mom and I am grateful that Heavenly Father sent these two little spirits to earth together. I love you girls.

Love the kissing picture. What a riot! The party was so much fun. I'm just sorry I wasn't more help in setting up. I can't imagine our family without these little princesses.
