911

We had our first 911 call last night. We were eating dinner and surprisingly enough Lauryn fell off of her chair. (this happens almost daily) Cameron jumped up from the table and dialed 911. Dave took the phone from him and hung it up because no one had answered yet. They called right back and Dave assured them that everything was fine. About three minutes later there was a knock on our door and there stood two police officers. SERIOUSLY??? They told us that it is policy that they have to come by when a 911 call goes out. They were very nice and talked to the kids for quite a while. They praised Cameron for being so quick on his feet to call 911. I thought that was very sweet and then we talked about when it would be the right time to call 911. It is nice to know that officers could respond so quickly even when it wasn't an emergency.

Thats AWESOME!!! My kids did that years ago. They were in my room, called 911, and whispered to the dispatcher that there was someone in our house. I didn't know they'd called. It was before 7am, the doorbell rings, its still dark. I answer in my pj's, thinking surely something has happened to my husband on his way to work. Ahhh, kids, what would we do without them?
