I love our visits to Utah in the fall. I love the crispness in the air and the changing leaves. I love being able to wear a sweatshirt and night. The fall is definitely my favorite time of year. I have always loved the fall but after serving as a missionary in New England the fall is simply magical for me. It reminds of a time and place where I was thinking only of serving others and bringing others to Christ. I seem to feel a renewed desire to do what is right and to serve others. PLUS...it is football season. Cameron had a day off of school so we decided to head to Utah to enjoy some cooler weather and to enjoy some fall activities. It was also homecoming at BYU so we went to the parade and the football game. Dave had to work on the cabin so we went without him. He totally missed out. Somewhere in the midst of all the madness we even made it to a high school football game where my brother is an assistant coach.
When we go to Utah we love to visit Hogle Zoo. It is the perfect size for little kids. They take great care of their animals and it seems like there are always babies. Right now my kids love the baby elephant and now they are working on a Polar Bear exhibit which is very exciting.
Watch out Cameron that Lion totally bites!
A few little monkeys looking at some other monkeys.
We try to visit Utah in October so we can go to Gardner Village and see the witches. This is a fun place any time but especially at Halloween.
Look at these three little cuties. It is hard to believe that Cameron was FURIOUS with me during this picture.
At Gardner Village they have all kinds of witches. They are very creative and if you go at the right time (we didn't) you can even go in a carriage ride with a real witch.
Clara is showing me how fast she can run.
The BYU homecoming parade. I swear I thought Clara was having a great time but by the looks of the picture she couldn't be more miserable. This is my favorite parade. You show up five minutes early and still sit on the curb. It is over within an hour. They throw tons of candy and there are a few princesses. Everyone leaves happy.
Cameron and his cousin, Parker at the game. GOOOOO COUGARS!!!
Lauryn reminded me of why I usually leave the girls with a babysitter during the games. To her credit she was asleep before we ever got out of the parking lot after the game. I think the previous days activities totally wiped her out.
Clara was really good at the game. She seemed to enjoy looking for Cosmo and watching all the action.

That lion's head drinking fountain is the one thing I remember from visiting Hogle Zoo as a kid!
Okay, now I'm officially homesick.
