11 years and counting

Dave and I have been married for eleven years now.  We will be celebrating by having dinner with a few hundred of our favorite people at our ward party.  We knew that by getting married in December it would be tricky to celebrate.  We have spent many anniversaries at ward parties and Young Men and Young Women activities.  We don't mind though.  We always find time to do something together and then we try to do something to celebrate when times have slowed a bit.  Last year for our tenth anniversary Dave surprised me with a trip to the Outer Banks that we took in March. The other morning Dave was looking at a wedding picture that hangs on our wall.  He said "What happened to those two people?"  My first reaction and what I said was..."We had kids and got fat". I have been thinking about what we have been through over the last eleven years.  Most of it has been awesome.  We have had some trials but we find ways to overcome them and they make us stronger.  What will the next eleven years bring?  Well...we will have two fourteen year old girls.  HEAVEN HELP US!!! We will also have a young man who will be coming up on his 19th birthday.  I guess I am mostly wondering what his life will be like.  I am sure that the next years will be similar to the last few, full of trials and blessings.  I am sure there will be tears and triumphs.  I am so grateful that I have Dave to go through these experiences with.  He keeps me focused on what our eternal mission is.  There are days where I think I am not cut out to be a Mom or a wife.  Dave is always quick to encourage and to support.  We make a great team and I am so thankful for him. I love raising our family together but I also look forward to the day when we have more time together.  I hope we can serve a mission together. For now we will settle for a movie or dinner. I love you Dave.  Even if we have gotten a little plumper...I still think you are hot!

I'm so thankful for Dave too. I couldn't ask for a better husband for my little sister. And I know you are the best mom Cameron could possibly have. I am grateful he has you in his life. He would not be the little boy he is today if not for you. Love you!
