Spring Break

For Spring break I surprised the kids with a trip to South Carolina for Baylie's baptism.  I picked them up for school and told them to grab whatever they wanted to take on the plane.  They were so surprised and so excited.  Cameron was in on the secret because he was playing the baptism and needed to practise .  We flew into Atlanta because it was so much cheaper.
On our way to Columbia we stopped at Augusta National.  This is where they play the Masters.  Cameron was super excited to visit this course.
We couldn't get very close to the course because it is super private but we got as close as we could.
In Columbia Cameron Grandad and I visited the South Carolina state house.  We saw where some of Sherman's cannons hit the state house.  Everywhere a bomb hit there is a star to mark it.  Cameron is studying the Civil war in school right now so this was interesting for him.  We met a man there who was recently shot by a police officer.  The man was unarmed.  It was so interesting to meet him and to hear him talk about the need for peace and for all of us to work together to find peace.
After Baylie's baptism we went to a trampoline park.  The kids were able to play and get out some energy.

On Monday we went to Magnolia Plantation.  It was a beautiful place.  The kids kept telling me that it was for grown ups.  Sometimes grown ups get to have fun too.

When we came across this baby Alligator and it's mother the kids got a little more excited.

This is to prove that I actually do go on these vacations with my kids.

We went to the beach but it was freezing.

The birds were very aggressive and ate right out of the kids hands.

 These girls are crazy.
Cameron made a sign to welcome all birds.

On Tuesday we went to the zoo.  Columbia has a great zoo.  We fed the giraffes.
 The girls rode the ponies.

 and climbed the rock wall

 and fed the birds.
When we got back to Atlanta we visited East Lake golf course.   Again it was super private and we couldn't get very  close.
We had a little extra time so we visited the Atlanta temple
We got back just in time for the Easter Egg hunt.

These girls are crazy.  We are thankful for the time we got to spend with family and friends over spring break.
