Pine Wood Derby

So this is out of order but my computer is giving me grief about downloading pictures.  When I figure it out I will add pictures (or I will use Dave's).

Cameron had his first pinewood derby last Tuesday.  He was very excited. Dave had him pick out one of his match box cars to model it after.  They (yes, they) worked really hard on it.  Dave cut it for him and sanded it with his big tools and then Cameron did some sanding.  Anyway...do you know how hard it is to get an 8 year old to focus long enough to make a pine wood derby car?  So...they painted it several times to get it just right.  There were a few mishaps and some glueing that took place but when it came to race time we were thrilled that Cameron's car raced really well.  I was just hoping it wouldn't come in last place.  We were pleasantly surprised that his car took 2nd place.  Not too bad.  He was freaking out.  He has a little bit of a competitive nature.  I am not sure where it comes from.

Yeah, I'm not sure where that comes from either? : )

Hooray for Cameron! I learned at the last minute that non-Scouts could participate in our ward's Derby. I so wanted to! But I didn't even have time to get my kit. Another year....Look out, boys!

Yay to Cameron!! I'm glad that I don't have to deal with a competitive nature.
