Spring Break

I have some serious catching up to do so grab a drink and get comfortable.  The kids and I took a much needed vacation over Cameron's spring break.  Dave has to work so that we can spend all of his money so he wasn't able to come with us.  Hopefully next year he will be able to take some time off.  We headed to San Diego for a few days of fun.
We stayed at a really fun Hotel.  There was a lot to do on the hotel property and it was right on the ocean and a 5 minute drive from Sea world.  There were seals on the property and tons of grass a great pool and hot tub and even the beach.  We were in heaven.

I took the kids to the beach the first day we got there for what I thought would be an hour.  About four hours later I begged them to leave because I was so cold.  They ran and ran in and out of the water.  They could not have had more fun unless maybe if Dave had been there with us.
The kids loved to outrun the waves.
Cameron just relaxing a bit on the beach property at the hotel.  All he needed was a cold drink and someone to rub his feet.
We spent a day at Sea world.  The girls were so excited to see Free Willy.  Most people go to Sea world to see Shamu but we go to see Free Willy.  We got a lot of  laughs when people heard them talking about Free Willy.  One lady actually spit her drink out all over because it made her laugh so hard to listen to them. They were so funny.  When Lauryn told my neighbor, Emily about it she said "I was FREAKING out!"
On the bucket sky ride that goes over Sea world
I have no idea how Sesame Street and Sea world ended up connected but my kids loved meeting Big Bird and Elmo.
Waiting for Free Willy and his friend Shampoo.  Whatever makes them smile!
One of our favorite things about Sea world is the Beluga whales and the polar bear exhibit.  It feel like you have landed on a different continent.
We were having so much fun that we decided to stay an extra day.  It was a little cold in the morning so before we hit the beach we took a drive to the San Diego temple and visited Balboa Park.
We spent another day at the beach.  Clara loved getting warm by laying in the sand.
I buried the girls and then they buried each other over and over and over...
Lauryn making a sand angel.
Cameron made these funny little towers and would try to fortify them so that the waves couldn't knock them over.
We spent one day at the San Diego Safari Park.  We had a good time here but I think my kids would have rather just gone to the beach again.
They have these cool little birds that you can feed and if you are really tricky you can get them to sit on your arm.
Cameron was completely traumatized by the butterfly exhibit (I am still trying to figure that out) and he wouldn't go near these birds.
On the way home we stopped to visit Grandpa Carl's (Dave's Dad) grave.  The kids and I never met Grandpa Carl and I want my kids to learn about him.  I know that only his body is here in this cemetery but I think it is important to take them here every once in a while.

We had such a fun trip.  The kids were so good and so much fun to play with.  I love that as they get older they seem to enjoy each other more and more.  I love being a Mom.  Especially when all we do is play...
