Bear Lake

For the last several reunions we have had the Jennings reunion at Bear Lake.  We love Bear Lake.  It is a quiet little town and lots of great places to play.  Our favorite part of Bear Lake is the fresh Raspberry shakes.  They are so good and totally worth the calories.
We wasted no time and headed straight to LaBeu's on our very first night.
The lake is beautiful.  We ran into some of Dave's cousins and they had this fun magic carpet to play on.  It was a hit.
We brought a huge beach ball and discovered many different games we could play with it.
Cameron loves the water.  There was a time I didn't think he ever would love to play in the water but the last couple of years he has become a maniac.  He is in the water the entire time.  Unfortunately...this time he forgot to sunscreen when he took his shirt off and he got fried.
Cameron also discovered kayaking.  We need to get some to take to Kolob with us.
and paddle boards.  Hours and hours of paddle boarding.
Lauryn still loves this little pink one.  She goes all over the place in it.

Clara saw a sign for paddle board yoga and was determined to master the art.  I think she did pretty good.  I don't think I could do a handstand against a wall let alone on a paddle board.

trying to knock each other off the magic carpet.
There is always a lot of football throwing.  It is fun to have Cameron be old enough to go play with the boys out in the water.  It gets very physical and I am surprised no one has drowned.

These two....Clara is doing her best love boat smile in this picture.  Weirdo.  I love their relationship.  They are such good friends.  They are so blessed to always have a built in friend.  I love the people they are becoming.  I am so glad I get to watch them grow up.
 Play hard...Nap hard....
We played chair soccer for our activity.  It took a little bit to get it going but we added several different balls and then it got crazy.  We had a few injuries but that is to be expected.
When you go to church at a resort town in Utah this is what it looks like.  All of the classrooms were full.  We finally found a corner in the hallway to sit in.  We couldn't hear a thing but at least we were able to take the sacrament.
 lots and lots of volleyball.

I love watching my kids interact with family.  It is such a blessing to have cousins and aunts and uncles on both sides of the family who love them unconditionally.  I hope they always stay close to them.

One thing we have learned about Bear Lake is that when a storm comes rolling in you better get off the water.  They come in fast and they can be a bit sketchy.  Many people have died on this lake because they caught out in a storm and waves will actually capsize a boat.  We decided it was a good time to head back to the house.
 It's super pretty though.

We played human pinata.  This was a crack up to watch the kids chase the dads and pull candy off of their tshirts.
 The dads were exhausted.
 Dave finally surrendered.
We always try to make a trip to the temple.  This time was special because our little family was able to all go.   I love that the kids choose to spend vacation time doing this.  I look at this picture and think...how could my kids ever feel alone.  They have such a great support group.  They don't live close by any cousins but they know that these people have their backs.  Cute CJ in the middle had just put his mission papers in at this time.  He will be headed to Houston in a few weeks.

Love them.  These three are the greatest thing that ever happened to me.  I hope they always know how much they are loved.
Lauryn is just living her best life.

 brothers.
This is what a typical trip to LaBeu's looks like.  Our family kind of takes over.

Clara wants to make matching shirts for the next reunion.  We found these cute jackets and have decided that this would be a fun shirt to wear.
All we really need is a ball and some water and we are good for a few days.   The games that these people come up with.  This one I think started with Lauryn, Clara and Maren trying to figure out how to stand on this huge ball.
It turned into a family affair.
Don't think for one minute that the adults will be left out.

My ankle was finally feeling better so Clara and I went for a run.  The dandelions were huge.  I love running in Utah/Idaho where the air is so clean and fresh.
We always drive past this fake little lighthouse.  We decided to check it out.
Turns out it is the sales office for a home builder.  Genius.
remember how I said Lauryn was living her best life??? I wasn't lying.
This lake is truly beautiful.  We love our visits here and we are looking forward to many more.
