Summer bucket list

Last year when we thought we were moving the Reno the kids made a bucket list of all the things they wanted to do before we move.  Some of the things we had never done before but some of them we just wanted to do again before we moved.  When we decided not to move we decided to keep that bucket list.  We had fun this summer crossing things off our bucket list.  This post is full of things we did all summer not all at once.
The first bucket list item we crossed off was the Big Apple roller coaster at New York New York.  We went here before but the girls were not tall enough.  They have been dying to ride it ever since.
We walked across the street to Eataly at the Bellagio.  Eataly was beautiful but very expensive.  We walked around for a long time.  It was a little bit confusing to figure out where to go and what to eat but We finally found some pizza to eat.
Look at this tiny tiny car.  No one would survive an accident in that thing.
We had to try their gelato.  It was so good.  Like really good.  Probably our new favorite gelato place.
I have lived in Las Vegas for 22 years and never visited the welcome to las vegas sign.  I have driven past it plenty of times but never stopped for a photo.  It was a billion degrees outside but the kids made all of my dreams come true and posed for a picture.
Another item on our bucket list was to swim at the Golden Nugget pool.  There is a water slide that goes right through a shark tank.  You go pretty fast and you can't really see anything but it is still cool.  The pool winds around a shark tank so you can swim all around these sharks.  It was fun for a day.
Cameron is into this whole posing with his shirt up so we can see that he is getting stronger.  Go Cameron.
We learned that for locals it is actually cheaper to rent a big round lounge chair than it is to pay for admissions.  So...we lived it up.
We had both sun and shade so we were happy
We even ordered the Virgin margarita.  Delicious.
I love adventuring with these little people.  They are always up for anything.

After swimming we met Dad at Wahlburgers.  It is owned by the famous Wahlburger family.   We had heard great things about it.  It was good but not our favorite and way over priced.  Plus...the waiter wasn't super friendly but whatever.  Its all about building memories.

Another bucket list item was to see the volcano at the Mirage.  This used to be more impressive but it was still cool.
We walked across the street to the Venetian to see the gondolas.
Pretending to be in Italy
There is a really cool ceiling in the Venetian.
Of course....gelato
It was dark when we left and the strip is always so active at night.
Lots going on down there.
Another day we planned to go to wet n wild.  It started pouring rain and got freezing cold but not before we had a good fun day.  It was actually really fun to be out in the storm.  Lighting came and they cleared the park.  They didn't close it they just made everyone take cover but we decided to leave and get POP instead.
We used to always go to the Shark Reef.  Before the kids were in school all day we had a season pass and we went here often.  This is always a fun place for us to visit.

The girls would stay at the touch pool all day.

We got photo bombed by a scuba diver.

Cameron thinks he has outgrown the Shark Reef but he seems to enjoy it when we are there.

In all the times I have gone to the Shark Reef I have never seen the turtles come swim up this close.  It was like this turtle was playing with the girls.  So cute.

They had an exhibit on Polar Bears.  These exhibits are very educational and they have lots of games and activities that you can do.

Also...we learned this year that we can swim at the Mandalay Pool for free when you go to the Shark Reef.  We will definitely be doing this more next summer.  We had to ditch out earlier than we wanted to because Cameron had a meeting with a city councilman to finish up his last merit badge for his eagle.

Luv-it ice cream is around the corner from where Cameron had his meeting so we stopped by.  It is kind of an iconic local place but because it is downtown we rarely go there.
One of the first bucket list items we did this summer was the Stratosphere but somehow it ended up at the end of this post.  We went to the top of the stratosphere.  There were some people bungee jumping off.  The girls really wanted to do it but you have to be 18.  Bummer.
The views from up there are pretty amazing.
We bought the all you can ride pass.
It was so hot this day.  I think it was 107.  Miserable.
We all rode the big shot.  The girls rode it a few times.  I rode it maybe twice and Cameron was done after one ride.
I skipped this ride.  The girls did it.  They are brave suckers.

I did do this ride.  The claw went out over the city.  You were swinging a million feet up in the air.  It was nuts.  The funniest thing was there were three guys from England on it with us.  One of them asked where we were from.  I told him we were local and he asked why we were there.  I told him my kids had created a bucket list.  After the ride started and we were flying out over the city he turned to me and yelled "Stupid bucket list"  It was so funny.

We still have lots more on our bucket list.  It seems like every time we cross something off we just add something else to it.  Dave says that is not how a bucket list works.  He says you have to just put a few things on the list and then do them all before you die.  The kids and I decided we like our bucket list better.  You should keep it full so that you always have something to live for/ look forward to.  I look forward to crossing more things off our list and adding many more things to it.
