Fourth of July and dumb ankles

In an effort to get my family to be more active I signed us up to run the freedom run.  We would do family runs at night.  It was actually really fun for me.  I think they hated me for it  but whatever.  Unfortunately about a week before the run I was on a late night run with Dave and I stepped on a pinecone and sprained my ankle.
seriously....such a bummer.
These cuties ran the 5K and did a great job.
I was super proud of Cameron for doing it.  He hates to run but he agreed and I was glad he did.  Scott and Beth's family came and ran it too.  They refused to wear the ugly green shirts.  They were pretty hideous.
Clara really wanted to make a fourth of July cake so she and Grammy worked some magic in the kitchen
You can see the stadium of fire fireworks from Grammy and Grandad's front yard.  We love being able to sit outside and watch them.  Also...their neighbors put on a pretty good show as well.
I am so grateful that I am raising my children in this country with the freedoms that we enjoy.  I think we take it for granted.  There are so many people who live in horrible circumstances or in fear every single day.  As much division as there is in our country I am grateful that we are safe and that we have freedom to worship and live as we please.  I love the United States of America and I am proud of my heritage.
The next morning we met at waffle love for breakfast before we headed to Bear Lake for the Jennings family reunion.
