2022 here we go

In January we went with Ted and Alison and their family to Brianhead to go snowboarding.  I had just had a surgery on my toe and couldn't join in.  I don't think I would have anyway.  I am a chicken when it comes to snow sports.  I sat in the lodge and read my book while everyone else froze.
The girls were quick learners and they had a blast

We don't get many opportunities to engage in snow sports so this was a fun day for us.
Lauryn and Clara played on the 14s volleyball team for Dig This.  It was such a fun group of girls.  Lauryn is a setter and Clara is playing outside hitter.  Their coaches are Andrew and Jarick.  Most of the girls are new to volleyball but they learned and got so much better.  By the end of the season they were winning most of their games.

The girls participated in Zions Youth.  Lauryn is in the percussion and Clara plays the violin.
Many of the youth in our ward participate.  This is a picture with Maddy King, Sadie Williams and Ben Childs.  Zions youth is such a blessing for the girls.  It is a strength to their testimonies and they have made some really great friends.

Cameron was visiting from college so he was able to come and watch the girls.
grammy and grandad and grandma and grandpa came to see the performance

Clara and Andrew are both Jets fans.  Clara is mostly just a Zack Wilson fan.
For Spring Break we went to NYC.  The girls had been here when they were 7  We had a great time but they said I made them walk too much.

lots of street food.
We went to the NYC temple and did baptisms.
This is at the museum of natural history

One day we rented scooters in central park.  This was probably our favorite thing that we did.  We love to rent scooters and bikes when we travel.

We visited the 9/11 memorial.  We had visited this survivor tree when we were here before.  This time we went in to the museum.  It was heavy but so well done.  It's hard to grasp the terror and tragedy of that day.

The main reason for our trip was to see Hamilton.  It did not disappoint.  We loved it.

One day we met up with Dave's cousin, Eric.  He has lived in the city for many many years with his husband, Rick.  Eric took to some of their favorite local spots.  They live in Chelsea.  It was fun to spend a day with him and see the city in a different way.

One night Clara and I went and waited for Hugh Jackman to come out of the theater he was performing in.  He was very kind to everyone.
To get the best view of the city we like to go to Hudson yards.  It's never crowded and it is much cheaper than the empire state building.  Plus from here you have a view of the empire state building.

So fun to travel with these two.  It's weird to not have Cameron with us but he can't miss his classes.
